James Kirk work up with a start. Ruth was standing in his cabin at 0400 in the morning.
He closed his eyes, opened them. Ruth was still there.
“Happy birthday, Jim!” She raised her arms. Her black and white gown clung to her. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”
Kirk sat up. “You can’t be here. I left you on the Shore Leave planet.” She kissed him with her soft, warm lips. “This is impossible.” he whispered.
Ruth’s gown wafted down, revealing her golden body. Jim pulled her into bed. “I am prepared to believe six impossible things before breakfast.”
