Finnigan's Filk

FINNIGAN’S FILK
(To the tune of “Molly Malone”)

When Kirk was a plebe and somewhat of a dweeb
He was harassed  by Cadet Finnigan
Now Finn caused him grief, without pause or relief
Jim swore he’d get even if they met again.

If they met again, Oh, if they met again
Jim swore he’d get even if they met again

On a planet uninhabited, Bones, he got rabbited
There were Zeros and tigers and knights with fake skin
When up popped ol’ Seamus with his grin bright and famous
Jim swore he’d get even if they met again.

If they met again, Oh, if they met again
Jim swore he’d get even if they met again

The silver and gold, the young and old
They fought up the valley and fought down the glen
Kirk’s shirt, it was rendered when Finn finally surrendered
Jim laughed. He got even, he beat Finnigan.

He beat Finnigan, Oh, He beat Finnigan
Jim laughed. He got even, he beat Finnigan.

When Jim Kirk asked “Why?” Finnigan replied
“Did you enjoy it?” Kirk said “Yeah!” with a grin.
And that was the wherefore, the Caretaker said therefore
The complex mind needs to play now and then

Play now and then, We play now and then
The complex mind needs to play now and then.
